Salsa de Mayo is right around the corner, y’all! In case you didn’t know, I’m a huge fan of chips and salsa– so much so that I purchased an adorable graphic tee to prove it! The fresher the salsa, the better, too. To be honest, I probably spend at least an hour every week searching for new salsa recipes. I’m not that great of a chef, but I can whip up some mean homemade salsa, and I’m sharing two of my all-time favorite quick fresh salsa recipes with y’all in today’s post! One is a quick and easy strawberry jalapeno salsa and the other is a yummy mango, avocado, and habanero salsa. Both recipes are super simple and make amazing Cinco de Mayo snacks! It’s always nice to offer guests something light and fruity to counteract all the fried mexican goodness.

Cinco de Mayo aside, I also love whipping up these quick fresh salsa recipes at tailgates and game nights, too. Each recipes takes about five minutes of prep time (mostly chopping) and ten minutes to let the flavors blend. Keep reading for the full recipes, plus some fun Salsa de Mayo swag!

Strawberry Jalapeno Salsa

It’s strawberry season, y’all, and I don’t know about you, but I can’t resist buying in bulk. I had a few cartons sitting in the fridge, so I decided to try my hand at a fresh strawberry and jalapeno salsa from delish.com. I tweaked the recipe just a tiny little bit, and I’ve gotta say, it’s one of my favorite salsas ever. It works great as both a sweet condiment on protein and, my personal favorite, with chips. It’s also yummy enough to eat by itself with a spoon. If you do give this fresh strawberry jalapeno salsa recipe a try (and you totally should!), I highly recommend a veggie chopper to cut down on prep time! I use this one, and it’s an absolute lifesaver. There’s a recipe card below that you can save/share/print for safe keeping.

I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t love this recipe. I originally found this famous salsa recipe on MarthaStrewart.com, and it’s become one of my go-to’s for just about every get-together. The mango is sweet, the habanero pepper is spicy, and the avocado adds a nice creamy texture. It tastes great on protein (specifically salmon!) and with chips. Just like the fresh strawberry jalapeno salsa, I highly recommend a veggie chopper to cut down on prep time! I use this one, and it’s an absolute lifesaver.
