Life is so much simpler– synonym for better— in rural Virginia. Truth be told, I’m not at all opposed to picking my life up and heading to The Capital in 2015, but we’ll see where my professional ambitions take me. Regardless of my residential location, I appreciate the classic equestrian style characterizing this gorgeous region. With a high concentration of devout equestrians and an abundance of horse race events, you see some of the most classic and preppy ensembles in the Continental US. Think J. Crew mixed with Ralph Lauren and with Longchamp sprinkled on top. Naturally, this is where I feel like I need to be.
When I visited S earlier this month, we unfortunately only had Saturday and Sunday to bond, since we both have rather demanding work schedules. We spent our entire Sunday afternoon, post coffee and lunch-grabbing in Middleburg, having champagne and a picnic on the charming Fox Chase Farm (outfit details below).
The rustic peace and tranquil quiet were the best inner therapy a girl could ask for.
I know this is an old adage, but I’ve updated it to better fit my sense of fashion: Give a girl red lipstick and the right pair of boots, and she can conquer the world.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather or scenery for our BFF picnic. We brought it all, from champagne (duh) to fresh strawberries to gourmet popcorn.
