The only real reason I enjoy Valentine’s Day is the free pass to wear obnoxiously bold rep lipstick (I’m partial to MAC Ruby Woo) and drink as much champagne as you want without judgement. I’ve always made it a point to take full advantage of both of these unofficial February 14th female rights, and 2015 will be no different. Plus, in case you haven’t noticed, I kind of have a thing for the color red, so naturally Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite fashion opportunities of the year.

I decided to keep myself and my rouge motif warm by chasing around these elusive red heart balloons and donning this fabulous leopard print wool coat from Santa Fa Apparel. Yes, it’s actually as comfy and cozy as it looks. Full outfit details are listed at the bottom of this post.

Gotta love Florida and Florida’s unpredictable temperament, where 40 clandestinely turns to 70 in a matter of minutes. My red turtleneck dress from Victoria’s Secret is one of my favorite Valentine’s dresses of all time. It’s powerful, sexy, flattering, and warm, which is what every southern #girlboss wants when the temperatures drop below 60.

When balloons attack, you just gotta roll with the punches– literally. My hair and its static were having a field day.

I paired my red Victoria’s Secret turtleneck dress with {more} red and black accessories, including these absolutely gorgeous DvF Blaire pumps in Black Sport Suede available from Piperlime and this Kardashian Kollection jelly clutch, which holds a Mary Poppins-sized stash of essentials and is on sale for under $18.

Oh, and Ashley Nicholas was ever-so-sweet to make a BFF cameo in my post after she was coerced by a handful of creepy waiters who watched us closely for over an hour and insisted she get in a shot with me. Thanks, creepers! I adore this picture.

On a more serious note, whether you’re single or taken– sad, lonely, or content, I pray that each and every one of you surrounds yourselves with love tomorrow! If you fall in the single category, you’re not alone. Stay off Facebook, keep your head up, and pour generously on the wine. You don’t, and never should, need anybody else to make you happy.

Love you, mean it.
