As a Floridian living in the single-digit winter temperatures of Maine, there is nothing I hate more than shaving. My skin is already so sensitive from being outright frozen that any razor inevitably leaves a conspicuous and irritating trail of razor burn. Plus, trying to dodge enough hot water to not completely wash off the shaving cream in the shower is a game I’ve grown way too tired of playing. I’ve always been curious about laser hair removal treatments, but given their cost and the need for multiple and often ongoing sessions, I’ve never even come close to booking an appointment. Fortunately for me and my dry, sensitive, and un-assimilated skin, I’ve recently found my new dermatological best friend, and her name is Silk’n.
After first discovering the Silk’n brand, I wasn’t sure which product to try, so I opted for the Flash&Go Express at home hair removal device. Flash&Go is a light-based device for long-term hair removal that’s designed for home-use. It’s cute, compact, and incredibly easy to use, which are three characteristics that make it an instant technological winner. I’ve been using mine for the past month and a half, and I’ve made it through my first three treatments. It’s recommended to do treatments 1-4 two weeks apart. Even though I’m not even halfway done, I’m already so happy and excited by the results! The nerdy planner in me has scheduled formal calendar reminders in advance to finish out my first eight treatments.
Now, when I say “easy to use,” I mean it’s genuinely easy to use. The only things to be wary of are its caveats, which are plastered all over the user manual. For example, you shouldn’t use this at home hair removal device around or near your eyes. You can, however, use it from the cheekbones down to remove any unwanted facial hair.
You can use the Flash&Go at home hair removal device on your upper and lower legs, arms, and bikini line. I’m literally praying for the day when my nasty dark brown leg hairs are no more. Dudes can actually use it, too (just not on their face), which is fun! Kyle hasn’t started any of his treatments yet, but I’m excited to see how he likes it!
Aside from using this downright beautiful technology, it’s also a great excuse to bust out a bottle of champagne, put on a face mask, and have a luxurious solitary spa night.
