Why You Should Be Using a Wet Skin Moisturizer in Your Every Day Beauty Routine

I’m a total Florida girl. I was born and raised in Orlando, and up until about a year ago, I’d never left, not even for college (Go Knights!). Kyle and I road tripped to his family cabin in Maine last summer, and what was originally supposed to be a three-to-four-week vacation turned into a seven-month extended stay. Our time in Maine, as unplanned as it was, was one of the best experiences of my life. The only real shocker– and it totally shouldn’t have been– was the weather. My oily Florida skin transformed into a dry and irritated mess, and luckily, I found Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer at Walmart. It totally saved my Florida-conditioned skin in the fall and winter (you can read about my at-home spa tips for coping with the cold here).

Funnily enough, coming home to Florida was just as much of a dermatological shock, so I decided to try Jergens again to help re-adjust to the heat and humidity. It worked like an absolute charm. Part of what makes Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer so awesome is that it’s perfect for anyone with a crazy busy, disorganized, or wanderlust-inspired life. Jergens has saved my skin in both the frigid Maine winter and the humid Florida summer, so in my mind, it’s the ultimate travel sidekick. I apply it while my skin is wet, whether that be in the shower or after a dip in the pool or ocean, and it instantly absorbs for all-day softness. It has a lightweight feel that glides on smoothly and locks in hydration, keeping my skin looking beautiful and (most importantly) feeling healthy all day.

It’s also worth noting that my mom is the world’s pickiest beauty critic, and she’s been using Jergens since I can remember. I just barely fall below her on the pickiness scale, and I personally have yet to find a product that didn’t work well for my skin… in any climate. Plus, Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is affordable and available at Walmart in a variety of scents for under $6 per bottle. Just because I’m a tropical kick, I decided to try Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer with Nourishing Monoi Oil, and it smells amazing. I love the smell of jasmine and lilies, and it smells like a non-offensive blend of the two. I also picked up Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer with Cherry Almond Essence, which is actually exclusive to Walmart. It has a much more neutral scent that Kyle prefers to use over the Monoi Oil.

Other available scents include Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Restoring Argan Oil and Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil, which was sold out last time I went to the store and I can’t wait to finally try.

Do yourself a favor for the upcoming summer travel season and pick up a bottle next time you’re in Walmart! You’ll find it in the lotion aisle right next to all the Jergens Healthy Glow products. I’m not exaggerating– I recommend Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer to everyone, especially those wanderlusters who frequently hop from climate to climate. A good wet skin moisturizer can really work wonders!

I tried Jergens wet skin moisturizer over the winter when my skin was getting dry. Not impressed. My legs were flaky just a couple hours later. Gold Bond Healing lotion right after a bath works tons better for when you have really dry skin.

Oh, yikes! I’m from Florida, so spending the winter in Maine made my skin uncomfortably flaky, as well. Jergens worked well for my skin, but I’m also pretty naturally oily, so I’m sure that plays a factor. I’m glad Gold Bond did the trick, though– I may have to give it a try, too!

I never tried wet skin moisturizer until I tried Jergens! I absolutely love how it feels and helps because my skin gets dry and ashy. I tried other brands but they irritated my Iskin so bad. I really love that Jergens helps during the summer mostly because of the heat here in the East Coast. I use it during my days on the Jersey shore beaches. I do use it at times for the cold which is also a plus because New Jersey is freezing during the Winter. I would recommend anyone who has very dry or oily skin to use it. It’s a life saver!
