How to wear a red pencil skirt to work during the holidays

The great thing about pencil skirts is that they’re a capsule wardrobe staple. They never go out of style, and they never stop looking chic in a professional setting. Also, if you purchase a solid colored pencil skirt, it’ll go with just about anything with a moderate-to-conservative neckline (crewneck, polo, non deep V-neck). The elf in me likes to wear as much red as I can in December, so I decided to pair this J.Crew Factory red pencil skirt with a festive Scotch plaid LL Bean flannel. Even though red is a much less traditional color in the workplace, it’s become a fun neutral that’ll work well with just about any pattern– especially one with red or green in it around the holidays. If you are curious how to style or wear a red pencil skirt to work, this is the festive Christmas Eve-inspired post is for you!

I actually styled this same skirt with a classic striped Ralph Lauren oxford and navy J.Crew Factory sweater vest this past summer. Click here for a second non-holiday way to style this gem of a garment! Oh, and scroll down to the bottom of this post for full outfit details! I’m not even kidding– this entire look is on major sale (I’m talking over 50% off).

How in the world is it already Christmas Eve? For anyone struggling this time of year, I invite you to read a post I wrote last year. It touches on the dangers of becoming too invested in social media and false realities this time of year. Regardless of your situation, you’re never alone, and you’re loved. Always and unconditionally. Have the most Merry Christmas, y’all! I’m so thankful for each and every one of you!
