I’m not sure what kind of weather-related phenomenon occurred this week in Maine, but the temperature dropped to record December low of -7 just yesterday! It blows my mind to think this preppy non-Eskimo outfit was shot only a few days prior. Don’t get me wrong– it was still freezing, and I scolded myself for refusing to wear my puffy black jacket over this classic red crewneck sweater and tartan mini skirt. From now on, I’m just going to walk around wrapped in blankets until warmer weather approaches. I’ll be in Florida for Christmas, so I figure I’ll just keep this festive get-up in my suitcase until I can wear it again without literally freezing to death.
Regardless, it makes an adorable Ivy League-esque holiday ensemble, and this versatile tartan mini skirt can be worn year-round. Plus, virtually my entire outfit is from J.Crew Factory, and it’s all on major sale! We’re talking 50-60% off everything, plus an extra 40% off clearance. Head to the bottom of this post for full outfit details and for a special Daniel Wellington discount code.
Isn’t this black-faced Daniel Wellington watch gorgeous? I fell in love with their new modern Classic Black collection the second I saw it! The 36MM boyfriend face is a chic power accessory, and it goes well with everything, especially work wear.
