It hard to believe, but Kyle and I witnessed the season’s first snow from our kitchen window in Maine this morning! Yes, that means early morning temperatures are dipping into mid-to-high 20s, and afternoon temperatures are capping out in the mid 40s. Since we arrived in early August and weren’t planning on staying beyond October, I naively failed to pack virtually any warm layers– just bathing suits and a handful of sundresses. I ventured to Augusta yesterday afternoon to do some much-needed shopping for comfy loungewear at Kohl’s, and I left with two full shopping bags full of Cuddl Duds essentials.
As I was checking out, the cashier said, “OMG. I love these things, especially for snow shoeing. They’re the absolute BEST layers!” I haven’t gone snow shoeing (yet), but I did test her theory while playing in the remnants of fallen snow this morning, and I couldn’t agree more. I layered a scarf over this cowlneck tunic, which is secretly layered on top of a stretch crewneck top, and I layered a pair of stretch leggings over a pair of fleece-lined leggings. Oh, and the best thing about smart layering is that the layers can be stripped off at your leisure. When I got inside, I cozied up in my favorite chair with my new book The Underground Railroad, which is awesome, and layered down (so to speak) in an evergreen wrap-over tunic, stretch leggings, and (my personal favorite) a pair of lined sweater socks.

But I seriously love the way you styled your Cuddl Duds! That tunic is adorable on you! I’m also extremely jealous of the fact that y’all had snow the other day. It’s still in the 80s during the day here in Georgia and I am so anxious for the cold weather to roll in!
